Do I need to checkout an ebook to read it?

Downloading or checkout of an EBSCO ebook is only necessary to read the ebook offline, i.e. without an Internet connection.

EBSCO ebooks may be checked out for offline viewing for 7-14 days depending on the licensing terms for that title. EBSCO ebooks cannot be "renewed," but they can be downloaded again if licenses are open.

What ebooks are available through Park?

Park University provides access to over 200,000 ebook titles from various suppliers, mostly from EBSCO. These titles may be searched in Pirate Search along with journal and news articles, or by searching the library's catalog.

Are ebooks accessible with screen readers?

Adobe Digital Editions is designed to work with assistive technologies on Mac and Windows. You must separately install/enable these applications. Installation instructions can be found on the respective web sites (JAWSNVDA, or Window-Eyes on Windows and VoiceOver on Mac).

Free NaturalReader may also be used for reading ebooks (as image captures) and other electronic documents.
